AMD's CEO, Lisa Su, kicked off CES 2026 with a bold vision: AI for all. And they're walking the talk with their new line of AI processors, designed to power the future of personal computing.
The AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series processor is the star of the show, unveiled at the annual CES conference. AMD claims this processor is a multitasking beast, outperforming competitors by 1.3x and speeding up content creation by a whopping 1.7x.
But here's where it gets technical: these new chips pack a punch with 12 CPU Cores and 24 threads, allowing for efficient and powerful processing. It's an upgrade from the Ryzen AI 300 Series, which was already impressive when it launched in 2024.
And the growth is impressive too. Rahul Tikoo, AMD's senior vice president, revealed that they've expanded their AI PC platforms to over 250, a massive 2x growth in just a year.
Tikoo paints a compelling picture: "AI will be a multi-layered fabric, woven into every level of personal computing. Our AI PCs and devices will transform how we work, play, create, and connect."
But it's not just about work. AMD also announced the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, a gaming-focused processor that promises to enhance the gaming experience without compromising on speed.
"AI is reshaping everyday computing," Tikoo emphasizes. "It understands, learns, automates, and personalizes our interactions with our PCs."
And the good news is, you won't have to wait long to get your hands on these new processors. PCs featuring either the Ryzen AI 300 Series or the Ryzen 7 9850X3D will be available in the first quarter of 2026.
AMD also showcased their latest Redstone ray tracing technology, which simulates light behavior, resulting in stunning video game graphics without any performance lag.
